On his 2018 release, All Is Good, Jéan P The MC took the commercial approach while still grounded in his Hip-Hop purism. The album showed the Canton MC's versatility in subject matter and production while displaying a transparency that isn't a usual norm in today's current Hip-Hop.
Joke's On You is what Jéan calls "an art exhibit in audio form". Each song paints a beautiful picture of stories and emotions suitable to all. The fifth offering from the lyricist is his most concise work to date. Joke's On You is a nod to the non-believers and a test of endurance. This being his 20th overall project, it is evident that Jéan P The MC is just getting started.
Without question Jéan has found his voice and comfortability. On the LAKIM laced opening banger "Address", he rhymes, "I'll let ya'll know the truth right now imma keep it real/ Well I got a job, a son, a beagle, man I got bills man!". Just as he evokes emotion ("Never Give Up"), he also demands respect as one of Ohio's elite artists ("These Days And Times").
